OpenCV is important infrastructure for computer vision and AI, used in an estimated 80% embedded vision deployments covering everything from hospitals to autonomous vehicles to industrial safety applications.
Importantly OpenCV is not just Open Source Software, but is also run by the non-profit Open Source Vision Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States. One of the main sources of revenue for the library is donations from organizations who benefit from OpenCV’s source code. Without these donations development and maintenance would quickly become untenable.
If your company depends on OpenCV, please consider giving back and becoming a member organization. Members receive perks such as mentions in the OpenCV Newsletter (over 300,000 subscribers across email and LinkedIn), appearances on OpenCV Live streams (over 120,000 YouTube subscribers), social media boosts and more depending on the level of donation.
