After the long build phase final judging for OpenCV Spatial AI Contest is underway. The top 10 teams have been selected and OpenCV has brought together 5 industry professionals to help choose the 3 Prize Winners. In advance of the big announcement on the April 21st episode of OpenCV Weekly Webinar, let’s meet the judges!

Murewa Olubela is the Cofounder and Chief Building Officer of MARVL, an augmented reality language learning tool for English Language Learners (ELLs). A storyteller and perpetual learner, Murewa Olubela drives the business side of MARVL, leveraging her diverse background and skills to build relationships and drive growth. With MARVL, she aims to help educators potentially reduce the academic achievement inequalities ELLs face, by providing evidence-based bilingual instruction and curriculum support for their ELLs.

Gary Bradski is an American scientist, engineer, entrepreneur, and author. He co-founded Industrial Perception, a company that developed perception applications for industrial robotic application (since acquired by Google in 2012) and has worked on the OpenCV Computer Vision library, as well as published a book on that library.

Murtaza Hassan is an Educator/Youtuber/Entrepreneur in the field of Computer Vision and Robotics. He runs one of the largest YouTube channels in the field of Computer Vision, educating over 3 Million developers, hobbyists and students. Murtaza obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics and later specialized in the field of Robotics from Bristol University (UK). He is also a serial entrepreneur having launched several successful ventures including CVZone, which is a one stop solution for learning and building vision projects. Prior to starting his entrepreneurial career, Murtaza worked as a university lecturer and a design engineer, evaluating and developing rapid prototypes of US patents.

Anna is an the CTO of OpenCV.ai. She has a decade of experience in the Computer Vision industry and created solutions for a wide range of industries, including medicine, security, sports, and virtual reality. In addition to her work with OpenCV, Anna is CTO of ModelPlace.AI, the AI model marketplace.

Ye Lu is currently the co-founder and CEO of Cortic Technology Corp. He received his Ph.D. in computer vision from Simon Fraser University and has over 15 years of professional experience as a software engineer and architect at respected companies, including Yahoo, Electronic Arts, SAP, and Microsoft. He co-founded GhostBird Software Inc. and was one of the first developers to take advantage of the embedded GPU and vector processor for image processing and computer vision on iOS. The company was acquired by Yahoo in 2013.
