We are looking for interns to participate in Google Summer of Code (GSOC) to help improve the OpenCV library.
How the GSOC Process Works
OpenCV.org has been selected for Google Summer of Code. That was the first step in the process.
Next, we have to submit a list of projects we want to get funding for. Based on our application Google will approve funding for a few projects. There is no guarantee that we will get funding for all the projects.
In 2019, we got funding for 10 projects.
How to Apply for OpenCV Internship
Here are the steps you need to follow to apply as an intern for GSOC 2020.
- Go through the list of projects we are currently considering.
- Join our Google group to talk to mentors.
- Fill out this pre-application form so mentors for projects you are interested in receive your resume and other details. Please note that this is NOT a formal application. You have to apply directly to GSOC ( see step below ).
- The mentors will review your application material and may reach out to you via email. They may also request a video interview. Based on your application and interview, the mentors may encourage you to apply formally to GSOC. However, just because a mentor likes your application does not guarantee you will get an internship. On the other hand, it is very unlikely you will get through if the mentor decides your application is not strong enough.
- Read GSOC application process for students and Apply directly to GSOC. Check the deadlines at the site.
