Who this tier is for

Is Premier the right fit?

Premier fits a team whose release schedule or customer deployment can be disrupted by a difficult OpenCV problem. It combines the LTS maintenance foundation with priority issue ownership, more product-specific qualification and additional engineering days. The business value is a clearer escalation path and less coordination work around unresolved component failures.

Production vision pipelines

A crash, incorrect image-processing result or regression can matter to a shipping product. Your team needs a defined process for investigating the covered component.

Camera and platform integrations

Issues can cross application, camera SDK, driver and library boundaries. Establishing responsibility early makes the support agreement more useful.

Teams with their own expertise

Premier can complement an experienced internal team when incident load, unfamiliar library behavior or release qualification requires additional capacity. It does not assume your team lacks testing or OpenCV knowledge.

Indicative annual fee for a three-year commitment, billed annually. Taxes and initial qualification are separate. Allowances are totals across the agreement, not per family or baseline.

The full LTS foundation.

Covered maintenance, certified binaries, release evidence and a defined lifecycle across the agreed portfolio.

Priority incident engineering.

A named technical lead, 1-business-hour Severity 1 (S1) response within 8x5 coverage, diagnosis and a documented fix or mitigation plan.

Product-specific qualification.

Expanded customer regression data, output tolerances and agreed latency or memory checks, with planned release reviews.

More room for integration work.

30 engineering days per year for approved tuning, regression integration or other scoped work, plus monthly technical reviews.

Illustrative deployment

Two product lines, four qualified configurations.

Consider a company with an inspection product and a separate camera-processing product. Each has its own maintained OpenCV source line, and each line ships on two agreed hardware/software stacks. The following example illustrates scope, without promising support for any unassessed release, camera or platform.

Illustrative Premier deployment
Coverage itemIllustrative scopeCount / profiles
Inspection productAccepted baseline A2 agreed profiles
Camera-processing productAccepted baseline B2 agreed profiles
Total2 families / 2 maintained baselines4 profiles

If an accepted inspection configuration develops a serious output regression, the first job is to establish a reproducible case and the component responsible. For a covered OpenCV defect, the investigation would produce a fix or mitigation plan and agreed validation. A camera-driver issue would follow the ownership defined at onboarding. No fixed recovery time or customer business outcome is assumed in this example.

Examples explain scope, not supported-version or hardware availability. Each exact source line, configuration and acceptance criterion is agreed after assessment.

Certified by OpenCV

A release record your team can use.

All binaries delivered under OpenCV Enterprise Premier will be certified by OpenCV. The same certification standard applies across the tiers; Premier adds more scope and customer-specific engineering rather than a different definition of a qualified release.

  • Certified binaries, signatures and checksums, source and patches, build recipes and the exact dependency and configuration record.
  • Qualification results, test-suite revisions, accepted output tolerances, known anomalies, exclusions and approved exceptions.
  • An SBOM, relevant vulnerability and remediation notes, change-impact information, and agreed latency or memory comparisons.

The certification covers the stated configurations and written acceptance criteria. It does not replace your product validation, regulatory approval or functional-safety assessment. Your team retains the deployment decision. Quarterly exposure reporting and access to release records during the contracted service provide continuity between incidents.

Service and engineering

What priority support means in practice.

A named technical lead provides an escalation path, monthly technical reviews and diagnosis with a documented fix or mitigation plan. Severity 1 means a critical supported production failure or material active exploitation with no acceptable workaround. The one-business-hour initial response means a qualified engineer begins triage, confirms ownership and agrees the next update. It is not a promise to repair an unknown defect within an hour.

The standard service operates 8x5 in an agreed time zone and holiday calendar. Coverage for your application, camera SDK and drivers is defined at onboarding. Separate vendors may retain repair responsibility for those components. Product uptime remains outside component support.

Thirty eight-hour engineering days support approved tuning, regression integration and other scoped work. Covered support, severe-defect remediation, security backports, certification and service reviews continue when those days are used. Unused days expire annually unless agreed otherwise. Planned release reviews and expanded customer tests help define what an acceptable change looks like.

Questions for your team

Bring a real support problem to the conversation.

Where does an incident become expensive?

Describe a recent blocker, the supported product affected and the teams needed to investigate it. That makes the support requirement more concrete than an assumed downtime figure.

Can the issue be reproduced safely?

Identify the relevant input, failure case, build and output expectation. Discuss data-access limits before defining the investigation process; representative inputs should be appropriate for you to disclose.

Who owns each layer?

Map the OpenCV code, application, transport, camera SDK, operating system and driver. We can then define the supported matrix, escalation route and scope of any joint diagnosis.

Premier questions

A few details before you register.

Is Premier only for teams using older releases?

No. Its main distinction is production support and customer-specific qualification. A current integration can still have demanding diagnostics or release requirements. The agreement identifies the accepted baselines and their lifecycle dates after assessment.

Does Premier include 24x7 response?

The starting package is 8x5, not round-the-clock support. 24x7 critical-incident coverage may be scoped separately; availability and pricing must be confirmed in the agreement. An incident submitted outside the standard window does not acquire an elapsed-hour promise.

Are four profiles available for each baseline?

No. Four is the total across the agreement. Two baselines built on two agreed stacks each use all four profiles. A profile pairs a maintained baseline with specific hardware, architecture, OS, toolchain, modules, backends and dependencies.

What is the commitment and onboarding cost?

The indicative fee is $250,000 per year for a three-year commitment billed annually, excluding taxes. Initial qualification is separately scoped, indicatively $25,000-$40,000 for a standard integration. Additional configurations, ports and migrations beyond the allocation are separately quoted; five-year extensions require assessment.

Would Partnership be a better fit for a platform roadmap?

Consider Partnership when planned fork evolution, hardware enablement or ongoing integration work dominates. It reserves sixty engineering days and includes weekly active-work reviews. Premier remains focused on production issues, product-specific qualification and a monthly review cadence.

Will OpenCV remain free and open source?

Yes. Enterprise is an optional maintenance and engineering service. Commercial use remains governed by the applicable open-source license. Your rights to received code continue under that license; service end dates and access to release records are set by the agreement.
