Explore Partnership in detail → Register interest in PartnershipCertified by OpenCV
All binaries delivered under OpenCV Enterprise will be certified by OpenCV. OpenCV certification will connect each delivered binary to its source, build environment, supported configurations and qualification results.
Exact revision, modules, dependencies, toolchain, flags and target configurations.
The release meets written acceptance criteria. Every test exclusion and approved exception is recorded.
Release artifacts and the qualification record are bound by hashes and a verifiable OpenCV signature.
New issues are assessed against that release; advisories, replacement builds and certificate status are traceable.
Certification covers the configurations listed in the release record. It is OpenCV’s own qualification of the binary, not regulatory approval or a functional-safety certificate for your product.
Included in all three tiers
The deliverable is a maintained component and a record your engineering, security and quality teams can use.
Certified binaries, source revision and patches, build recipes, pinned dependency manifests, package checksums, signatures and installation or rollback instructions.
A unique release identifier, the exact tested matrix, test-suite revisions, results, known anomalies, approved exceptions and an accountable OpenCV release sign-off.
A software bill of materials (SBOM), an assessment of relevant vulnerabilities, remediation notes, and contextual exploitability statements where supported by evidence.
Release notes, change-impact analysis, API/ABI review where applicable, numerical tolerances and measured performance comparisons on the agreed workloads.
Issue ownership, an agreed maintenance cadence, lifecycle dates, quarterly exposure reports, and access to previous releases and their supporting evidence during the contracted service.
Receive a maintenance and exposure report even when no code change is needed, so your team can track the status of its supported release.
Release evidence covers your agreed configurations and acceptance criteria. Your product team retains final integration testing, validation and release approval.
Your fork. A clearer maintenance path.
A custom fork can be the right engineering choice. Its lifetime maintenance and testing need an owner.
Maintaining a private fork means owning its fixes, builds and tests. Your continuous integration (CI) may cover fewer platforms, compilers or backends than OpenCV’s broader cross-platform testing.
We review your existing coverage and agree the additional qualification your product needs. The test matrix names the supported hardware and software combinations, and distinguishes build checks, emulation and runtime tests on hardware.
| Maintenance need | How we can help |
|---|---|
| Private changes | Review your patch set, reproduce the build and agree maintenance responsibility for supported changes. |
| Fixes from upstream | Assess applicability, resolve conflicts and regression-test eligible backports on the supported fork. |
| Platform coverage | Add agreed hardware and software combinations to a controlled test matrix, with build and runtime coverage recorded separately. |
| Product behavior | Exercise your failure cases, numerical tolerances and performance thresholds with approved representative data. |
A small, stable fork may qualify for LTS after assessment. Choose Premier when production diagnosis dominates. Choose Partnership when fork evolution, integration or optimization needs an ongoing engineering plan.
Qualification applies to the agreed matrix, not all hardware. A private fork or customer-built binary must complete its own assessment and qualification before receiving an OpenCV certificate.
Choose the scope you need
Planned starting packages. Annual fees assume a three-year agreement. Initial qualification, taxes and additional scope are separate.
| Annual scope | LTS | Premier | Partnership |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indicative annual fee, USD | $150,000 | $250,000 | From $400,000 |
| Product families | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| Maintained baselines | 1 | 2 | 4 |
| Qualified build profiles | 2 total | 4 total | 8 total |
| OpenCV-certified binaries | Every delivered binary | Every delivered binary | Every delivered binary |
| Security / defect backports | Included in scope | Included in scope | Included in scope |
| Customer engineering | 10 days / year | 30 days / year | 60 days / year |
| S1 initial response | 4 business hours | 1 business hour | 1 business hour |
| Standard coverage | 8x5 | 8x5 | 8x5 |
| Technical reviews | Quarterly | Monthly | Weekly engineering review; quarterly roadmap |
| Private-fork fit | Stable, accepted patch set | Accepted fork; production support | Managed evolution; planned work |
One engineering day = 8 hours. Covered support, severe-defect remediation and security backports do not consume engineering days. See definitions and examples of product families, maintained baselines and build profiles.
Understanding your coverage
Three units define your coverage. They are counted across the agreement.
An agreed product line whose models share substantially the same OpenCV integration and regression-test basis. It is not a count of devices sold.
Example. Standard and compact models of the same inspection appliance can be one family. A separate robot-navigation product with a different integration would normally be another.
One supported OpenCV source line, rooted in an agreed version and accepted patch set. Routine fixes create new releases within that baseline. A release line or fork requiring independent ongoing maintenance counts separately.
Example. Maintaining an OpenCV 4.8-based integration is one baseline. Supporting a separate 4.10-based line alongside it makes two.
One maintained baseline paired with a specified build and deployment configuration: hardware, architecture, OS, toolchain, modules, backends and dependencies. Each delivered binary records its exact source and build details.
Example. One baseline on agreed Linux x86-64 and Linux Arm64 systems uses two profiles; two baselines on both systems use four. Each profile specifies its own hardware and software stack.
Two inspection-appliance models share one maintained OpenCV integration, delivered for the two agreed Linux configurations above.
1 product family / 1 maintained baseline / 2 build profiles
Tier allowances are totals across the agreement, not per family or baseline. Routine maintenance builds do not automatically add a profile. Examples are illustrative; supported versions, configurations and changes are agreed at onboarding.
Service, lifecycle and pricing
A named owner, clear response expectations and a written maintenance horizon.
Severity 1 (S1) means a critical supported production failure or material active exploitation with no acceptable workaround. Initial response means a qualified engineer begins triage, confirms ownership and agrees the next update. It is not a guaranteed repair deadline.
The starting packages cover 8 hours per business day, 5 days per week (8x5), in an agreed time zone and holiday calendar. 24x7 critical-incident coverage may be scoped separately; availability and pricing are confirmed in your agreement.
The starting subscription is a three-year commitment, billed annually, for an accepted baseline. Your agreement defines maintenance end dates and the fix policy. Five-year extensions, older releases and private forks require supportability assessment.
Fees cover the agreed product families, versions, build profiles and service. Initial qualification is priced separately, indicatively $25,000-$40,000 for a standard integration. Ports, migrations and configurations beyond the included allocation are separately quoted.
Days fund approved integration, optimization, fork evolution and enhancements. Once used, covered support, severe-defect remediation, security backports, certification and service reviews continue. Unused days expire annually unless agreed otherwise.
The agreement defines supported components, exclusions, response windows and maintenance dates. Product uptime and product-level regulatory or safety approval remain outside component support.
A few things to know
Yes. OpenCV remains free and open source. Enterprise is an optional maintenance and engineering offering. Existing releases retain their open-source licenses.
No. You can use OpenCV commercially under the applicable open-source license without an Enterprise subscription. Enterprise pays for the support and deliverables described in your agreement.
OpenCV certification qualifies a supplied binary against stated criteria and configurations. It does not replace your product testing, regulatory approval or functional-safety assessment.
We assess the code, dependencies, hardware and testability before confirming support. Your agreement lists supported baselines and lifecycle dates. Every binary delivered under it will complete qualification.
Coverage is explicit. We distinguish directly maintained components, dependencies supported by another vendor, and monitored components outside repair scope. We test the agreed matrix.
Enterprise adds defined response windows, deployment-specific maintenance, release qualification and engineering services. The open-source library remains available independently of the subscription.
